A declaration by the Representatives of the New Earth by voluntary assemblage:

When, in the course of human exploration, it becomes necessary for science to dissolve prior mistakes in pursuit of proper truth -and only proper truth- and to promote understanding commensurate with the laws of nature and physics, as appropriate to any chain of related proper truths, the progress of science becomes a pursuit of discovery. Any and all such discoveries must be properly true in accordance with anchored, grounded, proper facts. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. Science benefits from clarity and consequence, always so, never not.

We hold these truths to be proper:

======== That proper truth be valid by proper audit, audit consistent with known proper fact.
======== That the nature of science is pursuit of discovery, proper discovery always consistent with proper truth appropriate to context.
======== That to secure clarity of consequence, proper audit is the only means of approved membership in The Set of Proper Truths.

That whenever any form of reasoning becomes destructive of these ends, it is proper for science to alter or abolish such reasoning, to supplant such reasoning by objective audit, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its understanding in such form, as to science shall seem most likely to be properly true.

Prudence indeed will dictate that dogma long established should not be changed for light and transient causes, and accordingly, experience has shown that science is more disposed to suffer errors of omissions and misunderstandings when such misunderstandings are the result of improper audit of, or lack of understanding of the appropriate proper truth that would invalidate such dogma. But when a long train of missteps and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same objective error, evinces a design to confuse, even obfuscate, it is proper for science to throw off such errors, in proper pursuit of clarity and consequence. Such has been the patient path of discoveries made by the Honorable Scientific Community, and the necessity which compels them to expunge any dogma inconsistent with proper truth.

The history of the pursuit of knowledge is a history of discovery subject to refinement, among which should appear no discovery that would contradict the uniform tenor of the rest. But such contradictions have in direct object the establishment of misunderstanding of that which is properly true. Let the facts be submitted to a candid world, let no one be sleeping, let pursuit of truth, for truth and only truth, be forever preserved in the halls of science.
